Inspiration from other films

Our group (Eliot, Elliott, me and Brad), quickly decided that the genre we most enjoyed and would like to make a film opening about was a thriller. We were inspired by films like Eagle Eye, Disturbia, Unknown and Rear Window, especially the idea of surveillance present throughout both Rear Window and Disturbia, which we would like to implement in our film as it is a very interesting concept to explore in a thriller. Unknown, as an example, uses close ups of the characters with writing on the side, to introduce the actors and I like this as it immediately associates characters with the actors and introduces them in a calm atmosphere before the action. It also seems that in the vast majority of thriller films the main character is male, something in our group we will probably use.
